How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which may be placed on your computer's hard drive. When the file is added, the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

Actually, "we" at RPC don't use cookies at all. They are way over our heads. But they, and possibly other analytical tools, are undoubtedly applied on this site via our web hosting service and their partners. This enables them and us to use monitoring facilities which show us a summary of the number of visitors to the site, the pages visited, the dates of visits, the browser and operating system used, and what sites, if any, visitors were referred from. In practice, this information is used by us as a general indication of how useful this site is to potential users. We have absolutely no access to your computer or any information about you via cookies, other than cumulative data such as that described above.

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. If you are worried about cookies, you might wish have a look at this site which shows how to delete and control cookies.

Who is listed as an RPC contact?

The RPC list of contacts started with an initial group of individuals who were interested in the establishment of the centre at the outset. Apart from those individuals, the contact membership list comprises only individuals who have opted-in to be members and receive emails. You can unsubscribe from the distribution list at any time.

If your email address appears to be compromised by malicious operators, RPC may temporarily remove you from its list of contacts. If you are not receiving our news and notices, and wish to reinstate your subscription, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Controlling your personal information

We will not otherwise sell, distribute or release your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
