The story of Alinafe

luanar.png

Alinafe Msosa (not her real name) is a young extension officer from the south of Malawi, whose dreams of furthering her education were dashed last year when her uncle passed away unexpectedly. Financial support from that uncle had been the only means by which Alinafe could have hoped to extend her tertiary studies. Alinafe's track record in livestock extension, including work with village poultry, was exemplary and it was primarily for that reason that she was considered a prime candidate for support. She was bright, she was conscientious, she was keen to improve herself, and she undoubtedly had the potential. Through her field experience to date, Alinafe has a particular interest in rural poultry together with a solid understanding of their importance in rural Malawi. With help from a small number of well wishers from amongst RPC's membership, Alinafe now has the opportunity to study for a degree in animal science at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). Investment in this young potential leader is a worthy investment in Malawi's future.

This is an example of what RPC can do. If you would like to contribute to this initiative, do let us know.
